Junior Executive – HR | Kolkata, India
Role Summary:
A proactive HR professional with strong ownership, a positive mindset, and solid experience in Talent Acquisition, along with exposure to HR Operations. The role drives end to end recruitment while supporting key HR processes across the employee lifecycle, ideal for someone looking to deepen expertise in recruitment, stakeholder management, and core HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment: requisition understanding, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding support.
- Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and develop job descriptions.
- Source through job portals (LinkedIn, Naukri, etc.), referrals, vendors, and headhunting; build and maintain talent pipelines through market mapping.
- Coordinate interviews and ensure a structured, positive candidate experience.
- Monitor hiring timelines (TAT) and ensure timely closure of positions.
- Maintain recruitment trackers and generate periodic MIS reports.
- Manage recruitment agencies and track vendor performance.
- Support employer branding initiatives and EVP development.
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Prepare employment contracts and maintain accurate employee documentation and personnel files.
- Update HRIS and ensure data integrity across records.
- Support onboarding, orientation, probation tracking, and confirmation processes.
- Coordinate exit formalities, documentation, and exit interviews.
- Provide accurate payroll inputs and support performance and salary review processes.
- Maintain statutory records and support HR compliance activities.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal HR communications.
Administrative & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors and support smooth HR and office operations.
- Liaise with Finance for vendor billing and payroll coordination.
- Assist employees with benefits-related queries, including insurance.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Qualifications: Preferably MBA (HR); open to graduates with suitable experience.
- Experience: 1–3 years of progressive understanding in Human Resources, with hands-on exposure to end-to-end Talent Acquisition and involvement in HR Operations.
- Recruitment Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage the full recruitment lifecycle independently, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, stakeholder management, offer roll-out, and onboarding support. Strong understanding of hiring metrics such as TAT, pipeline management, and conversion ratios.
- HR Operations Knowledge: Working knowledge of employee lifecycle processes including documentation, onboarding, probation confirmation, exit management, payroll inputs, and performance cycle coordination. Basic understanding of HR compliance and statutory documentation.
- Systems & Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and recruitment portals (LinkedIn, Naukri, etc.). Strong working knowledge of MS Excel for reporting, MIS preparation, and data analysis.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively collaborate with hiring managers, senior leadership, Finance, external vendors, and employees at all levels while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Analytical & Reporting Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain structured trackers, generate periodic reports, and ensure data accuracy across HR records.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across the organization.
